WALA: the Waitangi Wetlands. In our Inquiry groups we had to research an animal, plant or insect. We had to find out if the Waitangi Wetlands is a good place for it to live and grow.
We also had to create a way of showing our learning. Here is a video of how we presented our findings.
WALT: write narrative stories. In a narrative story we have been learning to add detail to our character, create a picture of the setting and the character in the reader's mind and give detail of what happens in the beginning, middle and end.
In Reading we are learning to find information in a text and reorganise it.
Here is an example: my poster advertising for a new sniffer dog.
Something I did well was the work sheets.
Something I need to work on is figuring out where they will find sniffer dogs.
This Term we are learning all about being RESPONSIBLE. We have been talking about different ways we can be responsible at home and at school. In this activity are just some ways of how I show responsibility.
In reading I am in the Blue whales group WALT use clues in the text to figure out unknown words and clarify ideas This is one of my follow up activities. Something I did well was my ing endings. Something I could improve is work more quickly.
Triangle-WALA: Addition and subtraction with numbers to 1000 alongside learning about time and reading/drawing clocks.
Next Step: To use a range of strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems.
Inquiry
We are learning about The Treaty of Waitangi. I have created a plan of a diorama. My Inquiry group and I will choose our favourite diorama to create.
